Microsoft has provided its customary advance notice of security bulletins, and it looks like August's Patch Tuesday is going to be a big one with a record 14 bulletins.

Patch frenzy erupts after August Patch Tuesday

With 26 vulnerabilities covered, August's Patch Tuesday was a biggie! Microsoft issued 11 bulletins, but 12 were expected. What has Microsoft applied the band-aids to, and what is yet to be patched?

The introduction of Office 2007 brought a wave of document compatibility issues for users of Office 2004, but Microsoft has at last delivered a non-beta version of its Open XML File Format Converter for Mac. And while ODF support has been promised for Office 2007 SP2, there's no sign of it for Office 2008.
